BOY Disease Boy's wide appeal is a product of his universal plight: his shy, tender approach to the opposite sex invariably results in his being spurned by the people whose lives he hopes to enrich. This inevitable rejection exacerbates Disease Boy's pursuit, and his methods of ensnarement become increasingly embittered and vindictive. Upon being given another opportunity for affection, his compunction at his own hypocrisy causes him to revert to his original (and more heartfelt) means. |
